The Delano Campus and Company History

Cofounded by Steve and Barb King, the business transformed the commercial play industry while its ownership stayed independent. The company moved its manufacturing to the industrial park in Delano in 1981. That Minnesota campus, more than 50 years since the company's start, now contains 10 buildings and a staff of more than 700.

Product Lines and Part Warranties

Your coverage depends on the specific part and system you purchase. Metal bolts and hardware called fasteners hold the frame together. The manufacturer's limited warranty coverage comes in distinct tiers, sorted by component:

  • Structural failure is covered for all clamps, beams, caps, stainless steel fasteners, and aluminum posts on PlayBooster and PlayShaper under a 100-year limited warranty.
  • You get a 15-year limited warranty on all plastic components and on the steel arches for Evos and Weevos.
  • A three-year limited warranty applies to all other parts, such as all swing chains and cables plus all swing seats and hangers.

What Is the Total Cost for a Full Project?

Our first step counts the children playing at the same time. Then come shipping, installation, and the ground surface beneath the equipment. Under the equipment, a wood material known as engineered wood fiber covers the ground area. Our playground cost estimate shows about $30,000 for equipment, $4,500 for freight, and installation costs from $7,500 to $10,500 when 30 children play at once. Surfacing costs for engineered wood fiber over the 2,250 square feet required run $7,900 to $12,400, so the complete project totals $49,900 to $57,400.

Comparing Prices From Local Representatives

Regional playground equipment dealers and manufacturers' representatives sell commercial equipment. These local experts create quotes that include installation, ground surfacing, and the play structure for your site. You can weigh total installed costs and part warranties side by side by comparing their proposals to quotes from other playground equipment manufacturers. Our playground grants finder lets you see state funding programs available to local organizations as well. Once you are ready to price your project, submit one short quote request to hear from area dealers and representatives.
